Directions from A61

Exit Villefranche de Laurangais junction.

Through Péage (toll) and straight over first two roundabouts.

Right at the next roundabout signed N113 Carcassonne & Centre Ville.

After a few hundred metres road swings right onto a roundabout you go straight over this one and the next into a one way street signed Carcassonne & Avignonet D622E.

Pass Spar supermarket then Hotel du Lauragais on your left. Take left lane for Folcarde route, or right lane for Avignonet route.

Folcarde route

Left onto main road (one way) and immediately switch to right hand lane. Turn right signed Folcarde D72. Follow tree lined avenue and main road then switches to the left. Disused industrial building on your right after a couple of km.

Main road switches to the right and you go over a small bridge and the road then switches left signed St Assisscle & Folcarde. Another mile or so you come to St Assisscle. Turn right at the church, road signed for La Serre. At the top of the hill our house is the first inhabited one on the left - blue gates. Take it slow now - narrow way over deep ditch!

Avignonet route

Right on to main road (N113 for Castelnaudary). This is a long straight road and after about 4km you see wind turbines on your left. Turn left onto D43 signed Montmaur & St Felix & Revel. After a couple of km turn left where signed for La Serre.

Go over a small bridge and the road then branches left. Keep on this road to the top of the hill - very steep, narrow and windey. Bear left at the top past old farm houses on your right. Drive past a block of grey cottages and a terra cotta house on your right and our house is the next right with blue gates. Take it slow now - narrow way over deep ditch!
